My name is Amanda and I’m married with three dog-daughters. I have a PhD in chemistry and work as a research scientist at an analytical facility at a university. Born with cystic fibrosis (a genetic lung disease) in the early 1980s, my parents quickly realized the importance of aerobic activity for my lungs. I grew up playing sports at an early age, beginning with soccer at age 4 and running at age 8. I have embraced endurance sports for most of my life and have been fortunate that my favorite hobbies are simultaneously great therapy for helping to keep my lungs strong and clear.
