In the last 30 years I’m proud of/grateful for: the means and knowledge to take care of my health.
Cystic fibrosis is a complicated and expensive disease. I’m glad I have the educational background to understand what it does to my body and a job that doesn’t make it a financial burden.
I don’t understand everything about it and I know I’ll never be able to predict my disease course, but my knowledge makes me feel like I have some control over it—like somehow understanding what’s going on with my body will help me to give it what it needs to stay healthy and strong.
How I celebrated: lots of sleeping and relaxing at home to recover from our Thanksgiving travels. We also picked out Christmas trees with Matt’s grandparents.
