(Somehow I am a day behind…)
In the last 30 years I’m proud of/grateful for: my memory.
I have a really good memory and that is the sole reason I’ve ever experienced any scholastic success in my life. (It certainly wasn’t due to study skills.)
I’m good at memorizing, learning and remembering things I look at, but not as good if I hear them. I’m a very visual learner. I don’t have a photographic memory, but I do recall details well and it sometimes is weird/awkward when I remember details of an interaction with someone that they have completely forgotten.
Of course, some things I forget easily—like someone’s name immediately after meeting them. And occasionally to set my alarm or take my enzymes or things on my grocery list. I guess maybe I recall things well (except names) and forget things I’m supposed to do.
How I celebrated: went for a walk around campus after lunch to get some fresh air. It was cold but sunny, which beats cold with no sun in my office any day.
